Who We Are |
|
| Soroptimist International is a world wide volunteer service organization for women in business, management and the professions. As a Non-Governmental Organization, our appointed representatives to the United Nations (UN) Economic and Social Council are able to contribute to meetings and other gatherings.
A Soroptimist is a leader in her community. She believes that by joining with other women and engaging in the service of her community and society, she can make the world a better place for humankind. Soroptimist International of Trenton Area is part of the Midwestern Region (SIMWR), one of 29 Regions of Soroptimist International of the Americas Federation (SIA), who in turn is one of 4 Federations of Soroptimist International (SI). SI/Trenton Area serves the communities of Trenton, Riverview, Grosse Ile, Woodhaven, Gibraltar and Brownstown Township. Our efforts are focused into six areas of service: Economic Development, Education, Environment, Health, Human Rights, and International Goodwill. |
